If you always wanted to have as close of a 1491 'Caribbean Arawak' experience as is humanly possible in the 21st century...THIS is the tour you are looking for!
If you always wanted to live as close as you can to the first Europeans to enter the Caribbean...then your best cultural re-awakening experience and opportunity is going to be a journey to the Lokono-Arawak people of Guyana, South America; on the northern rim of Greater Amazonia. We are the sister people of our great Taino-Arawak kin of the Greater Antilles Caribbean Islands, and we remain living in our culturally intact tribal lands in South America to help you re-discover yourself.
You will be a guest in the home of the same semi-westernised Lokono-Arawak pro-traditionalist family that you see in these photos, you will be able to learn Arawak arts and crafts if you so desire (basket weaving, palm leaf plaiting, wood sculpting, bow and arrow making etc.) and cultural skills (temporary body tattoos, cassava bread making, cassava beer making, dug out canoe mastery, traditional fishing, traditional farming, traditional foraging for in-season edibles etc.), and important ancient insight into traditional spirituality....you can even hear the ancient Lokono-Arawak language being spoken fluently daily by our family patriarch and matriarch...it is impossible for one who is genuinely seeking NOT to leave us a VERY different and more in-tuned to the web of life - human being than when you arrived.
There is no day by day hour by hour itinerary, that is not how Indigenous people live, there will be sights and attractions on the 240 square mile Pakuri Lokono-Arawak Territory that you will be taken to, as many as time permits - if that is the main purpose of your journey to us. But the most important opportunity to rediscover yourself and literally walk with the ancestors, and expand your consciousness in ways you cannot imagine now - as an honored guest & a new 'spiritual relative'.
